Research & Development
Research and Development relief was introduced by the Government to encourage and reward companies that invest in innovation. It is a valuable relief that enables re-investment and growth within your company. The amount of relief you can claim depends upon the size of the company amongst other factors, but you could receive tax relief or a payable tax credit.
R&D refers to the creation or adaption of a new product, process or service. The following costs could qualify:
- Staffing
- Software
- Consumables, such as materials, power and fuel
- Sub-contracting or Externally Provided Workers costs
- Clinical trials costs
