About Braemar Frankland
Braemar Frankland specialises in property and R&D tax relief – but we also understand business objectives. We know that our clients are at different stages in their business cycle and that the advice you require will depend on what you hope to achieve. That’s why our first step is always to understand your business, with a view towards maximising the value we offer.
We have more than 20 years’ experience of professional tax advice and we understand all aspects of property taxation and R&D relief. We believe in transparency in how we conduct ourselves with our clients and we work hard to establish a relationship that is based on clarity of information and clear objectives.

About our Director
Joe Newton
During his time as a Tax Partner at a multinational accountancy firm, Joe found that much of his time was spent mitigating the poor guidance given to clients by unqualified or inexperienced advisors or even their accountants. He saw that good quality, flexible and truly independent advice was sadly lacking in this field. He recognised that he could provide what was missing and this led to the establishment of Braemar Frankland.
Joe originally qualified as a Quantity Surveyor working on various development, regeneration, infrastructure and remediation projects, before specialising in capital allowances and land remediation relief in 2000. He is a Chartered Taxation Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a Fellow of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT).
When he is not following his passions of distance running, mountain biking and triathlon, Joe is spending quality time with his wife, four children and hyper-active dog.
